Rules and Regulations

ANTIOCH SCHOOL GOLDEN RULES

  • Be courteous and polite!

  • Think before you act, and avoid regrets!
  • Never keep company of bad persons!
  • Never refuse to help others when you can!
  • Always do your best, however small it may be!
  • Don’t insult or ridicule your fellow classmates and elders!
  • Be truthful and never cheat on others!
  • Have faith in yourself and never give in!

ANTIOCH SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Every student must have a copy of the Diary book which should be brought to the school daily.

2. The school timing is from 8:25AM to 1:45PM. It is compulsory for all the students and teachers to join the morning and afternoon assembly.

3. Students must be punctual. Late comers will be awarded exemplary punishment.

4. All the students are expected to greet their teachers during the school hours.

5. Students should maintain cleanliness and come to the school neat and tidy.

6. Students are not permitted to leave the school compound during school hours without the prior permission of the Principal. Students found bunking class will be severely punished and repetition will summarily result in suspension.

7. No outside interview/interaction with the students is allowed without prior approval of the concerned authority.

8. Students are not allowed to raise funds/donations or whatsoever in the form of cash or kind inside the school premises and/or from their fellow students for any purpose without the permission of the Principal.

9. Students must come dressed in full school uniform to the school daily unless otherwise informed. Students without complete school uniform may be awarded suitable punishment as deemed fit by the teacher in charge.

10. Damage caused to any school property will have to be bore by the concerned student. The school authority will determine the amount to be fined proportionate to the damage cause.

11. The school is against all forms of individual or collective indiscipline particularly causing strike by the students or the teachers.

12. Students are strictly prohibited to bring items other than their study materials to the school without the prior permission of their class teachers. Confiscated items will not be returned.

13. Students are strictly prohibited to smoke or chew pan. Use of drugs or narcotic substances will result in expulsion without warning.

(a) Every student is responsible for the safe custody of his or her books and other belongings. No complain is this regard will be entertained.

(b) Stealing within or outside the school is strictly prohibited. Anyone found indulging in such activity will be severly dealts with.

14. English being the medium of instruction; students are expected to use only English during the school hours.

15. All students are encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities organized by the school. Students must participate in physical exercises, literary programs, social works and other as and when organized by the school. No one is exempted without prior permission of the concerned authority.

16. Students who are absent from school up to three days are required to fill in their leave absence record. For those who are absent for more than three days should produce a medical

certificate or obtain prior consent of the principal justifying the long absence.

17. Absence without leave will incur a fine of Rs.5 (five) per day and Rs.20 in case of Saturdays. Failure to pay will result necessary action deem fit by the school authority.

18. Students are warned against insulting or threatening their fellow students or teachers. A minimum punishment of suspension for a period of five days with a fine will be imposed on those found guilty.

19. Second Saturdays and fourth Saturdays are holidays. All local festivals and important state and national days will be observed.

20. Parents/guardians are always welcome to the school to meet the principal to discuss the progress of their wards.

21. Students of this school are not permitted to take private tuitions from the teachers as it is against the RTE Acts. Any students or teachers violating this rule may be penalized as deem fit by the school authority.

22. Additional rule, if required, may be enforced from time to time, without prior notice, as the situation demands.

HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATION

1. Hosteller should bring their own luggage which contains mattress, blanket, mosquito net, sweater, two set of school uniform, Torch light etc.

2. Hostellers are not allowed to keep money, mobile phone, radio, or any electronic device with them.

3. Gold or silver necklace, ear rings etc. and any kind of valuable ornaments should not be kept with the hosteller.

4. Hosteller should sleep in their respective bed. It is strictly forbidden to sleep together without special permission.

5. Hostellers are not allowed to exchange their dresses with one another.

6. All the guardians/parents are allowed to visit their wards only on Second Saturday and Fourth Saturday of the month.

7. Hostellers are not allowed to go home other than medical reasons.

8. Bringing in or keeping eatables in the hostel is prohibited.

9. Anyone found misbehaving and creating problem in the hostel will lead to expulsion.

Examinations

EXAMINATIONS & FEE PAYMENTS

1. There will be term examinations and a promotion examination. To be eligible for promotion to the next class, a student must sit and pass in all examinations conducted.

2. Students with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to sit in the promotion examination.

3. Text books, copybooks and other papers are not allowed inside the examination hall. Students resorting to unfair means during examination will be severely dealt with.

4. Fees structure will be released and put on the school information bulletin from time to time as and when necessary.

5. Monthly tuition fees must be paid at least on or before the 15thof each succeeding month. For example, fees for the month of June must be paid on or before July 15.

6. School Fees and Smart class Fees are chargeable for 12 month calendar.

7. The school follows CBSE curriculum, or as prescribed by NCERT.

8. The School follows the Evaluation by the CBSE, time to time.

9. The examinations are formulated into two terms, viz, Term 1 and Term 2.

* Term 1 comprises of 1st Quarterly (carrying a weightage of 10%) Half Yearly examiantion (80%) and 10% for internal assessment (5% - Notebook and 5% subject enrichment)

* Term2 comprises of 2nd Quarterly (10%), Final (80%) and internal assessment (same as Term1).

10. The overall marks and grades are computed by taking the average percentage from Term 1 and Term2.
